How Music Affects Us and Promotes Health
Music is one of the few activities that involves using the whole brain. It is intrinsic to all cultures and can have surprising benefits not only for learning language, improving memory and focusing attention, but also for physical coordination and development.
Of course, music can be distracting if it’s too loud or too jarring, or if it competes for our attention with what we’re trying to do. But for the most part, exposure to many kinds of music has beneficial effects: http://www.emedexpert.com/tips/music.shtml
Laughter is the Best Medicine
The Health Benefits of Humor and Laughter
Humor is infectious. The sound of roaring laughter is far more contagious than any cough, sniffle, or sneeze. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness and intimacy. Laughter also triggers healthy physical changes in the body. Humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress. Best of all, this priceless medicine is fun, free, and easy to use.
Laughter is strong medicine for mind and body
Laughter is a powerful antidote to stress, pain, and conflict. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert.
With so much power to heal and renew, the ability to laugh easily and frequently is a tremendous resource for surmounting problems, enhancing your relationships, and supporting both physical and emotional health.
Laughter is good for your health
- Laughter relaxes the whole body.A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
- Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.
- Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
- Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems…. http://www.helpguide.org/life/humor_laughter_health.htm
Our hearts were completely broken when a law was passed that horses can now be slaughtered in the USA. Therefore, we decided to do something about it. On May 25, 2012 the mission of Humanity for Horses married the already existing Run for Home Haven, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing thoroughbreds. Our goal together is to rescue and sanctuary 144 horses along with any other animals that come with them. We hope to achieve this by 2013. To date, we have rescued 21 horses and brought together Thoroughbreds, Mustangs, Morgans and an Arabian quarter horse.
Our sanctuary has 151 acres of rich pasture which adjoins 200 more acres that can be ours. We are building a hospital and a quarantine and rehabilitation area. We have open barns for protection against rain and windy conditions.
Seperate from the 144 horses, we are devoted to rescuing wild mustangs that can run free. We have affiliated ourselves with non-profits that have thousands of acres of land for this agenda. — FIND OUT MORE ABOUT HUMANITY FOR HORSES http://www.unifiedcaring.org/AboutUs.aspx?htmlID=163
In today’s world we certainly get disturbing messages on what beauty is. The beauty portrayed in our media has nothing to do with the universal concept of beauty. Being divinely beautiful does not have a gender or face. It is a higher vibration of character, grace, integrity and compassion. When we live life with dignity, we create a beautiful arena that has a presence of safety, comfort and openness. Through this beauty, love manifests in whatever we do and whomever we touch. Let us “face” the facts, real beauty is not made up it is meaningful. It is not plastic, it is purity. It is not seen it is felt. It is not power it is purpose. It is not based on ego, it is based on empathy.-Harnessing Happiness-moving mind into matter
Feeling compassionate is a mingling of being beautifully kind-hearted, open-hearted, soft-hearted and warm-hearted. Compassion comes from a deep and desperate yearning to understand our fellow man, a gift that goes beyond empathy and sympathy. Mother Teresa said, “If the people of the world would source their compassion, we would have no suffering of poverty”. There never has been a heart that was great that was not also compassionate. Compassion is a mightiness in itself because it leads to giving beyond reason. - Harnessing Happiness- moving mind into matter
Goodwill;Goodwill creates a wave of positive energy, invoking spiritual healing. It produces an aura of protection around those who offer it to another. Talking about something is not sufficient; above all, we have to be examples of goodness. Goodwill is the universal mother of being instinctively manifested through us, restoring hope to the existing wailing world. However, it also brings hope to ourselves because, more often than not, we are happiest when helping. Blindly accepting divine direction, we emulate the Universe’s unconditional caring. This becomes the fundamental building of our character. As Confucius said, “He who wishes to secure the good of others, had already secured his own”. -Harnessing Happiness -moving mind into matter
Unlimited; When we are one with our Divine spark we have unlimited potential. Life becomes exquisite, whereby miracles become an everyday occurrence. Our creativity uses the insignificant to accomplish the impossible. We become what we wished for and we manifest what we hoped for. The universe is our playground and we become one with our majestic magnificence…. READ MORE @ http://www.unifiedcaring.org/AboutUs.aspx?htmlID=163
